Winding Walk is a community in the Otay Ranch area of Chula Vista, California. This neighborhood offers a variety of homes and expansive floor plans.
Winding Walk is comprised of 1,200 acres with about a third of its property protected as a natural habitat. These homes were built by Shea Homes and Brookfield Homes; construction is ongoing as of 2015. Amenities include a community Olympic sized swimming pool, spa, kiddie pool, and social activities.
The Chula Vista Elementary School District offers highly rated facilities like Wolf Canyon Elementary. The Sweetwater Union High School District is in charge of the older grades with excellent schools such as Eastlake Middle and Olympic View High. There are several private facilities to choose from including St. Rose of Lima School, Saint John’s Episcopal School, Mater Dei Catholic High School, and Lutheran High School of San Diego. The city claims Southwestern College, one of San Diego’s four private colleges.
There are many shopping centers throughout Chula Vista and nearby you’ll find the Otay Ranch Center which features a movie theater and many retail stores. This region is known for its weekly farmers markets that offer fresh local produce, plants, and flowers. The Eastlake Country Club features a Ted Robinson designed golf course. The 18-hole championship course has a par 72 as well as four sets of tees and 72 sand traps.
Chula Vista is Southern California’s seventh largest city and the second largest in the San Diego area. Its economy relies on tourism and the city offers many shopping, cinema, and dining experiences. Top employers include the local schools districts, United Technologies Aerospace Systems, Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center, and the local community college. This city has one of the nation’s only year-round training centers for the United States Olympic Team. Training is available for rowing, soccer, field hockey, track & field, kayaking, and archery.
